It’s the month of love after all.
We believe home should be the greatest love language of all.
Home can reach our soul and nourish it if we create an environment for that and mindset.
It’s a place for self-care, solitude, ritual, and relaxation.
In 2025 I have made some very intentional efforts to make home feel extra special.

To me romanticizing your life is really about elevating and savoring simple luxuries. It’s about creating intention within otherwise mundane tasks. It’s about self-care and the extra effort put forth towards being present and mindful. It’s about savoring the small moments rather than a task to be accomplished. It’s also about self-love and self-care. It’s the love we show ourselves by making the effort to give that little extra to ourselves even in the smallest of way. By showing love to ourselves we in turn offer the best version of ourselves to the world and those we love. To implement these practices embedding they within your daily routines is practical and doable.
Ways to romanticize your life in 2025…
Morning
Set your alarm to get up at least 20 minutes before your kids get up. Waking up to center yourself and being present is a great way to start the day. If I start my day rushed, I don’t feel my best.

Try not to go on your phone. Make yourself coffee, a smoothie, or do a simple chore to get a head start on the day. I find pairing a task you do with your hands to be a useful way to wake up.
Speaking of coffee…Make yourself a cappuccino at home. This might seem rather mundane. But I use to just pour myself already made blonde espresso coffee in a cup with almond milk and stevia and call it a day.
Carlin bought me an espresso and cappuccino machine for Christmas and I haven’t looked back. The simple ritual of making my coffee and experimenting with syrups, different types of coffee and recipes makes it more fun. I love coffee, and it feels like I’m treating myself by putting effort in to creating a delicious cup for myself to enjoy.

After work arriving home...Create a ritual when you arrive home.
Play jazz music and put yourself a glass of wine or herbal tea when you get home from work. As soon as I arrive home I set the mood for a relaxing evening. I put on jazz music on the TV from YouTube, I light a couple candles and I pour myself a glass of wine. Or sometimes it’s a Diet Coke or tea. Whatever I’m in the mood for. I like home to welcome me.
If I have the extra time I might even make a mixed cocktail or festive drink. This is a Valentine’s Day inspired recipe (vegan friendly).
Evening
Cultivate a relaxing atmosphere when preparing dinner. It use to be hurry and get dinner on the table, it wasn’t a good way to prepare a meal. It felt hurried, rushed and stressed. I plan dinner in advance and I try my best to slow down before I start dinner. I find by having my above ritual when I come home puts in that headspace when I step in the door.
I like my music on, a snack platter prepared on the kitchen island for Savannah and Carlin to keep them satisfied till dinner. I drink my wine, take my time and just savor it. I often light candle tapers and set the table for dinner.
Not every night is so thoughtful. Some nights it’s Chick-fil-A on the kitchen island or take out. And that’s ok. It’s about balance. Those nights are equally special because they are life.
Light a seasonal scented candle.
I love candles. Like love them.

There are several studies that support the positive effects of scent on your overall mood.
Nostalgia scents are especially powerful that link to happy memories.
I love vanilla, lavender, seasonal scents around fall and Christmas and anything that smells like a dessert.
My faves are bath and body works and a local shop Bia Candle Co.
Weekly
Display fresh flowers around your home. Every week I buy fresh flowers from Trader Joe’s. I always have fresh flowers in my living room, Savannah's bathroom and usually another area in our home. I love the smell and enjoy the ritual of buying fresh ones and creating a floral arrangement. I even pick flowers or branches from our yard often to display those.

My favorite herbal teas are yogi and twinnings.
I love English breakfast, chamomile, chai and seasonal teas during the holidays.

Wear silk pajamas. This sounds ridiculous I know. But there is something about the feel of satin or silk pajamas that makes me feel decadent and cozy. Sometimes my mood is more linen or soft. But actual pajamas sets make me feel like I’ve come home and taken my comfort seriously. Every small act sets up the intention and mindset. As soon as I come home I put them on. I also love any soft or sweater like lounge wear from The Drop on Amazon.

Establish a nighttime and bedtime routine.
Part of my nighttime routine includes my skin regimen. I light my candle in my bathroom and I get to work. I always wash off my makeup fully, then apply all my favorite nighttime skincare products. After I’m done I always plan out my outfit for the next day taking into account my mood, the weather, what I’ll be doing and how I want to feel. I do not like picking what to wear in the morning. I always end up feeling so rushed and anything I can do to make my morning easier I try to do.
My night time routine essentials

Monthly
Indulge in a decadent dessert. Eat it with a pretty fork on a pretty plate and all. Set the scene and truly enjoy it. I love to indulge in a treat every month. That is often a slice of cake. I love strawberry and vanilla cake.

For Her

For Him
Carlin is always in need of new sunglasses. I love this shape I recently bought for him.

We bought this wooden watch for him one year. It's adjustable and he loved the comfort and look. It’s casual for him as he is more laid back and athletic.

A good polo or collar shirt is always a go to. Really liked this sweater material for this season.

For the littles
For Savannah I usually put together a gift box or bag for her with a variety of items.
This year I put a bag together with some goodies from Target...
A sweet stuffie from the dollar section or this one is precious

Savannah loves anything art related

Savannah recently got into making her own jewelry
