This month we are taking you to a very cool city, St. Petersburg, Florida. Enjoy a summer weekend in St. Pete with us St Petersburg Florida is a super cool city. In fact, when we first began our search of this area, St. Pete was actually at the top of our list. It’s a vibrant cultured city. There is s very artsy, cool, and casual vibe to it. The shops, food, and fresh vibe really make the city energetic. It has so many amazing old historic neighborhoods and charming streets to see. We eventually landed in the Sarasota area because of our love for Siesta Key Beach and we felt it fit our family's needs more. The local growth and proximity to Lakewood ranch and the surrounding developing areas we felt would be good for business. We love visiting this super cool city. This is how we like to spend our time there. I suggest a weekend trip to try to squeeze in these gems.
Saturday
Start your day at the magical Sunken Gardens.
We are members of Marie Selby Gardens in Sarasota; one month a year Sunken Gardens participates in a free month to visit their location. It’s so worth having this membership because you get access to so many benefits.
Sunken Gardens is an incredible place to visit and very family-friendly. The Gardens are home to some of St. Pete’s oldest and most unusual specimens hailing from all over the globe, with some planted a century ago. Nestled in the heart of St. Pete, Sunken Gardens is a lush, tropical oasis home to more than 50,000 exotic tropical plants and birds from around the world, including its iconic flamingo flock. (Sunkengardens.org)The morning is a great time to visit in the summer as it’s cooler. They also have the most incredible indoor play area called Great Explorations-Children’s Museum.
Hop over to St Pete Beach-passe a grille for shopping lunch and the beach. Pete Beach, Pass-a-Grille is a quaint, laid-back, old Florida beach town. Here the boutiques, outdoor art markets, restaurants, rooftop bars, tennis courts, fishing piers and an ice cream cone are all within walking distance.
This was one of the first places we visited when we scouted this area while I was almost 8 months pregnant. (Check out the picture below)
