Lakehouse Cove

We were so thrilled to assist our clients in this new construction from start to finish.

Their home overlooks a lake, which—combined with their Michigan roots—provided the inspiration for the design.

This residence embodies quiet luxury through an intentional layering of organic warmth, architectural balance, and timeless detail. Each space was designed to feel elevated yet livable, combining soft neutrals, handcrafted textures, and sculptural forms that reflect a blend of Lakehouse rustic charm and sophisticated refinement.

Entryway

The entryway was fashioned after historic formal coastal homes found in New England, Charleston, or Savannah. The copper handmade lanterns speak to southern grandeur. We leaned into the grandness of the space and took the opportunity to turn a long, boring hallway into a design moment.

The crisp white formal millwork creates rhythm and proportion, leading the eye toward the natural light that floods through the glass-paneled door. Tray ceilings with integrated handmade oak beams and accent lighting bring subtle drama while maintaining simplicity and balance.

A slender console table grounds the space with dark, refined lines topped with layered organic décor—ceramic vessels, woven textures, and a sculptural branch that adds life and movement. The effect is one of tailored restraint that feels elegant, timeless, and inviting.

Mudroom

The mudroom transitions utility into beauty. Deep charcoal cabinetry with brass hardware creates a sophisticated, grounding moment that contrasts with the lighter adjacent spaces. A combination of concealed storage and open cubbies with woven baskets introduces approachable texture and function.

The built-in bench invites pause—a moment to drop bags or remove shoes. Despite its practicality, the area retains a sense of elegance and calm, continuing the language of crafted simplicity that defines the rest of the home.

Living Room

The heart of the home centers on a sleek black soapstone fireplace with nickel gap paneling framed by custom oak beams and accented with aged brass hardware. The design merges structure and softness—from the creamy upholstered sofa and tonal pillows to the oak shelving styled with pottery, books, and minimal décor.

A black iron chandelier grounds the space with quiet drama, while warm leather swivel chairs add approachable luxury.

The built-in bench anchors two custom-made paintings of our clients’ Michigan home and lake view—a nostalgic nod to their roots and history. The right side features a casual bar top and oak shelving.

Kitchen and Dining

An open layout connects the living space to the kitchen, where brass dome pendants, light oak cabinetry, and black hardware bring modern contrast. The waterfall island in veined quartz adds subtle drama. The adjoining dining area introduces tactile warmth through a woven rattan chandelier, black oak dining table, and woven chairs.

Primary Bedroom

In the bedroom, a soft striped clay wallpaper sets a serene yet romantic tone. Layered textiles in blush, rust, and cream evoke a modern heirloom palette, balanced by floral drapery and oak accents. The room blends old-world pattern and contemporary restraint, creating a restful retreat rich in depth and charm.

Home Office

The office features a custom built-in offering both functionality and elegance. The glass cabinets showcase curated collections and personal moments from our client’s career at Disney. The formal millwork adds architectural rhythm and quiet sophistication.

Finishing Touch

The home features all of our custom in-house cabinetry throughout—crafted to bring consistency, warmth, and thoughtful design to every space.
